Kathy Martinez: Good afternoon, Exhibition Organisers. Kathy Martinez speaking.

Ben Rushton: Hello, Kathy, it's Ben Rushton.

Kathy Martinez: Hi, Ben, I'm glad to hear you've arrived safely. Is everything OK?

Ben Rushton: Well, that's why I'm calling, Kathy. It's not OK at all. I'm in the exhibition hall right now, and the space we've been allocated doesn't match what I booked with you at all.

Kathy Martinez: Really? I'm very surprised. What's the problem?

Ben Rushton: Well, we've been given a space in the corner of the hall, and I specifically booked a central unit. And on top of that there's a pillar right in the middle of the space - so we can't set the stands up as we want. I'm afraid this isn't acceptable, and you're going to have to make some changes for us.

Kathy Martinez: I see. I'm going to have to think about this and find out what's gone wrong.

Ben Rushton: I think we'll have to ask for a refund too, as you can't expect us to pay the fee when so many things have been mismanaged.

Kathy Martinez: Hold on, Ben, we haven't reached that point yet. I'm hoping I'll be able to get everything rearranged so you can have the central unit I thought you'd been allocated. I'm afraid I asked a colleague to make the final allocation of the spaces, and it sounds as if she's made a serious mistake here. I should have checked what she'd done it was my responsibility.

Ben Rushton: Well, I'd be very grateful if you could sort it all out now. We'd like to know what's happening as soon as possible as we've got a lot to do on the stands to get everything ready.

Kathy Martinez: Yes, I appreciate that, Ben. Hold on. I'm just looking at the plans now. I think it will work if we move you to a space in aisle 3 - it's got the letters HN by it. Can you see it from where you're standing now?

Kathy Martinez: I'm sorry about this, Ben, my colleague can't have checked the booking sheets properly - I should have checked everything myself.

Ben Rushton: Well, these things happen, I know. But of course it's meant we've wasted quite a bit of time. I just hope we can get everything ready in time.

Kathy Martinez: I can't apologise enough for the mix-up. I tell you what, I'll send someone over to give you a hand moving everything. And I can offer you a 5% reduction on the exhibition fee.
